Our Proposals
Arrow Valley Solar is a proposed new solar farm that would generate 500MW of clean electricity for the National Grid. In addition, the Scheme includes a battery energy storage system (BESS) capable of storing electricity until it is needed, so that the UK can benefit from solar power, even when the sun is not shining.
The solar arrays would be spread across four areas of land within 17km (11 miles) of the Point of Connection to the National Grid at Feckenham Substation, making use of the most suitable sites available. These areas are located around south Warwickshire and east Worcestershire.
Across the Scheme, the infrastructure proposed includes:
Solar panels and battery storage to generate and store renewable electricity
Electrical infrastructure including substations to safely connect new electricity into the National Grid
Access and construction infrastructure, including site entrances, internal tracks, security features and temporary construction compounds
Landscape and environmental improvements, including planting, habitat creation and measures to support biodiversity.

Site 1
Abbots Morton, Rous Lench, Weethley and Wood Bevington
Site 1 is the most northern site and is closest to the National Grid substation at Feckenham and comprises six sub-sites.
Our proposals for this site include:
- Installation of ground-mounted solar panels
- A 250MW, 1000MWh Battery energy storage system (BESS) on Site 1(c)
- A 400 kV substation on Site 1(c)
- Up to five access points connecting Site 1 to the local road network, currently under consideration prior to finalising ahead of application submission.
Since publishing our Scoping Report in March 2026, we have included a new area, known as Site 1(f), which is approximately 25 hectares (ha) in size. Site 1(f) is located immediately north of Site 1(b).
Site 2
Broom, Dunnington, Salford Priors and Wixford
Site 2 is located either side of the A46 and to the west of the River Arrow. It is located partly on land that has been historically quarried, and comprises five sub-sites.
Our proposals for this site include:
- Installation of ground-mounted solar panels
- A new 400 kV substation, on either Site 2(c) or 2(d)
- Up to nine access points connecting Site 2 to the local road network, currently under consideration prior to finalising ahead of application submission
- A new permissive path as part of the Two Shires Greenway, linking to the existing footpath network.
Site 3
Bickmarsh, Cleeve Prior, Dorsington and Pebworth
Site 3 is located south of Bidford-on-Avon and the River Avon, and comprises seven sub-sites.
Our proposals in this area include:
- Installation of ground-mounted solar panels
- A new 132 kV substation on Site 3(c)
- Up to seven access points connecting Site 3 to the local road network, currently under consideration prior to finalising ahead of application submission.
Associated works
Alongside the features listed above, each site would also contain ancillary infrastructure and other elements, including:
- Electrical equipment required to manage electricity – including switch rooms and conversion units.
- Internal access tracks, site entrances and, where needed, local highway improvements.
- Security measures such as fencing, gates and CCTV.
- Drainage works and utility connections.
- Landscaping, habitat creation and other environmental mitigation and enhancement measures.
- Temporary construction compounds, laydown areas, and welfare facilities needed during construction.
Cable Route Corridor
To make sure the energy generated from Arrow Valley Solar can be used, the Scheme has a connection to the wider national electricity transmission system. This connection would be made using underground electricity cables, linking the four solar sites together before connecting them into National Grid’s Feckenham Substation.
The cables would be installed within a Cable Route Corridor, as illustrated on this map. The exact cable route will be refined following feedback from this consultation, alongside ongoing technical and environmental assessments.
